Trials provide a chance for members to test their competitive off road driving skills in a safe environment. Of course nothing would be possible without the help of our sponsors which included:

All competitors will be provided with chits numbered according to their drawn position. All rules/penalties are listed at the bottom of this page. We will walk the trail on competition morning.
 
Starts in the mud hole (approx middle of diagram). Place number in container. On Starter's order, go through pits 3,2,1 and into the everglades (heading in a "southerly" direction). Turn right and proceed up "Tony's and John's" Avenue. Stop at the top and place another  number in container. Continue through to "slippery corner" down "saffron patch" up "saffron drive" and down Mont Kilimanjaro into "Silicone Valley". Stop and place number. Reverse downhill into the lagoon until the stop sign. Go forward over humps and Mt Everest, proceeding along the left side of pond#1. Turn right through the gate then left into the lagoon to the "Sham Tree" junction. Turn left into Bamboo Grove up to the top of Barahar Hill, go down the off-camber stretch. Turn left to head up Bamboo Hill and down into River Valley. Turn left, up and over Barahar Hill to Sham Tree junction. Turn left along Coconut Drive over hump and Three Sisters, into or around Pond #2 to the finish marker. Park at the tree and place marker in container.

Competition Rules 2007


The competition begins at 8:00am. Competition fee will be $100. All competitors are expected on-site at 8:00am on Sunday 11th November. Last vehicle will be scrutineered at 8:30am. Vehicles arriving after this time will be allowed to compete (upon payment of competition fee) but will not receive scrutineering points.

The draw for position starts at 9:00am. Immediately after the draw we will walk the course. Any safety issues or course changes will be made at this time based on consensus and course condition.

First vehicle starts at 9:00am. Penalty points will apply for late start by first vehicle. All other vehicles must be at the start gate within 3 minutes of the previous vehicle finishing the course to avoid penalty points.

Penalty points-

All competitors start with 300 points. Deductions will be made for the following:

1. Touching a gate with the vehicle or body-5 points

2. Touching a container as the number is inserted into the container-10 points

3. Each number not deposited-10 points

4. Late arrival at event. Deduct one point for each minute (or part thereof) after 8:05am

5. Deduct 10 points for each minute (or part thereof) not at start position.

6. Deduct 10 points for each gate not attempted.

7. Ignoring Marshall's directive- 15 points

8. Not stopping at prescribed point - 5 points

9. Handicap for tractor tyres or diameters over 35". To be determined based on number of competitors. No other handicaps will be applied.

10: Deduct 5 points for each scrutineer item not included.

Competitors are allowed up to three minutes between gates or face disqualification. Within that time he is allowed to reverse, come out of the vehicle, retrieve dropped number etc.

No protests will be entertained later than one hour after the last competitor has completed the course. Protest jury will consist of the President (Gary), the Events Manager (Raffick) and the Course Designer (Gauph).

Congrats to the Competition Virgins, Carlvin, Harold and special congrats to Virgin Trevor who pulled number 1 and had to run the course first in POS.....well done!
 
Welcome back DavidLS, great to see the Dredlock in action again! and great driving as usual by Frankie and Guaph.
(Wess good try, better luck next time.......but at least you showed us how well Carol can drive when she extracted you from that mudhole!-)
