Our first trail for the year was most exhilarating and filled with hard work. The TTORC assembly, together with Raymond and three other visitors. Bruce, Ravi and Harold, departed on time and their efforts together with that of our members had a fun-filled and eventful day.
Entering the trail into the Heights of Guanapo, and three minutes en-route, many would have thought that we should turn around, however, with the experience of one of our senior members, Gauph and further discussion onsite we decided to form a “CEPEP GANG” and construct a road to access the river where Main Chef Roll was eager to get his “ WOK” going.
This was completed and by 10: 30 we were across the river and the pot was on the fire. Trevor, Raymond and Bruce decided to drop anchor at the river bed and assist Main Chef Roll while the small “CEPEP GANG” ventured into the insect infested and “what you may call it” environment.
Since there was much work to be done, we preceded uphill cutting, slashing, and clearing the bush on the path for the lone vehicle. This was a decision that was also made since the trail was covered with bush and fallen trees. After approximately two hours of cutting and clearing and removal of four fallen trees approximately 20” in diameter we made it to the top and decided to go no further and so returned to the restaurant for refreshment and lunch.
Lunch was prepared and served. The Main chef prepared two separate meals, one for meat lovers, the other vegetarian.
An Australian Dish named “Down Below” was prepared and served .More on this will be made mentioned off on the next meeting by the Main Chef himself. Coffee and other drinks were also served and much bantering was dished out as well. . Some rock crawling was also attempted by our members as the pictures and video clips would show. These would be forwarded soon.
We departed the river and return to civilization where the trail was declared closed.
Our visitors contributed immensely and a special THANK YOU must be mentioned to them. I was informed that they have enjoyed themselves and will definitely be at our next meeting.
Thank you must also be made to our members present, Gauph, Sheldon, Frankie, Roll, Calvin and Trevor, you have all contributed to a very, very, productive and eventful day. Also thank you to Roll for the use of the chain saw.
Thank you ......Raff.
