This exploration proved to be our most well attended trail for 2006 with 11 members and 2 guests. This Friday night lime started off with Paul making a few calls the day before and turned into a big event. As I pulled up to Praysal Junction at about 8.15pm, the lime and ole talk was in full swing. Gauf had some engine problems and opted to ride with Frankie. Calvin came prepared with a new rail of night lights and lots of eats and drinks! We were soon off at 8.30 following Calvin and his super lights. We started off on a rally route used by Trail Blazers, however on one hill Shane & Paul decided ‘that is ah nice hill to go down’. From this point it was all exploration and the fun had just begun! Paul then took us into very dark & murky area where Calvin got stuck on a log and had to be pulled back by Shane. After this we came upon the entrance to the Forest Park landfill and then made a quick 180 deg turn since Paul claimed ‘there are creatures living in the bush here’. We pressed further South through the cane field where we came upon some extremely heavy mud. Only Grazer and the Super Daihatsu were able to scamper through with the tractor tyres and everyone else had to be recovered. Here Feraz our Houston based guest 4wheeler demonstrated his superior rigging skills (and effect of an energy drink) hooking zuki after zuki to the bison Diahatsu with 60 ft of rope due to the narrow road and amount of mud.
From here it was a short trip into Caratal and we then proceeded to the Forest Park area where we stopped to rest at 4.30am! A police patrol seeing Raymond in the distance came over to take a look. After some ‘refreshments’ we all headed home, but the adventure was not done for Fareed who ran out of gas heading up the highway. Everyone got home safe and very tired after our best adventure of 2006!
Special thanks to Calvin, Roy, Frankie and others who ensured that ‘belly full’ and also to Paul for making the calls, I am waiting to do this again!.....Sheldon
