Verdant Vale - Reverse

This Off Road Club has some great trails and Verdant Vale, especially when run uphill or "Reverse", just after a hurricane has passed has got to be one of the best..

Five rigs gathered to attempt "the passage". All well equipped and driven by experienced drivers. Only Wayne was new to this sort of thing and he did very well where he was able to get traction.

Here the guys make the first river crossing...

of course there is always some one who has to get stuck and who was the first ?

Now you are wondering how come PQT managed to get stuck with his 6x6!

Would the fact that our newly renamed Events Manager, "Role Model" Keith, was sat in the passenger's seat have anything to do with it?

Anyway after two Suzuki's rescued Hercules from her embarrassment, it was onward and upward. The trail has three or four river crossings, about 15 "switchbacks" and some beautiful scenery as shown in this shot.

The word Hurricane was mentioned earlier and of course we had more than the usual number of fallen trees. With no chain saw at hand the team immediately swung in DEWD mode.
(For our younger members "DEWD" means four men watch while one works!)

Paul and Shane did some excellent work playing young tractors as shown below.

But all good days have to come to an end. Poor Wayne was fined one Carib for every switchback he had to be towed round. We won't reveal how many times that happened but suffice to say he bought all the beers in this picture and still owes some!

...............Cheers Wayne...........
