Indian Walk Trail revisited.

There is a story told around TTORC campfires, when the nights grow cold, how in days of old, when off roading was off roading, there was a trail which could make grown men cry, a trail that showed no mercy, a trail that, in the blink of an eye, could turn from a Sunday drive to the trail from Hell. Big men refer to it as the trail whose name we never mention. But the legend was starting to fade until today when a few brave men decided to tame......"The Indian Walk Trail". Here are the first hand accounts of two of the few who made it back.

It always started off so easily....

We were ably seen off by our President,  Lincoln and our Events Manager, Keith who had other matters pending. (What did they know that we didn't?) There were just four of us. Paul, Shane, Noland and I, John Lyder, started off on the formidable Indian Walk Trail. At first the going was easy until Paul "prayed" for rain....and mud and more mud.

Then Roland's accelerator pedal became unstuck from the floor (Why are we not surprised..Ed) and so we stopped to fix it and met our only Fan ....

Imagine I, John "Air Up" Lyder had to tow Roland to get him started,
(so my tow rope was christened at last. )

Then Shane spotted the other team and went in pursuit
(He returned with the good news that there was more mud ahead )

So we got together with the other team and attacked "them thar muddy hills"

As luck would have it there was one other who returned with a tale to tell. Yes "Tall Grass" Tiah, high on molasses, brought us back these few rare shots.

Hey where ya going John?? the trail is thataway!

Then it was time for lunch but before long the fighting broke out amongst the expedition members....

 "I'm taller....NO I'M TALLER!"

......however while Paul was invincible with his tyres, Shane made sure with his spring-over that he wouldn't be embarrassed ever again
.

and so, as the sun started to set, a lucky few made it back to civalisation.

Sadly this picture is the only proof we have that John Lyder was still alive. He was last seen driving off mumbling something to himself about .....

"I enjoyed the challenges and wished we had more members with us. We were grateful for the friendship and camaraderie extended by the other club."
