Nando Estate Trail
14th March 2004
Six club vehicles made the run on Sunday last: Tony Q ; Guaf N.; Auric De. ( Toyota Hi
Lux) ; Pieter V.; Shane B.; Keith B. A prospective member, introduced by Shane joined us
with his Suzuki.
Wellsely flew in from "froeign" especially for the event and found us on the
trail (He walked !)
We cleared the shrubs out of the way and made it up the hill and all the way to a rock
strewn dry "river" bed.
I made it up the hill at the end of a rope as I did not have enough engine power and
smoked my clutch. We made some adjustment to the clutch and my linkage and she well after
that. ( These little adjustments you have to
make in life ! )
This trail although dry keeps you alert with the hills and some off camber sections.
All the other vehicles practically walked up the hill.
From that trail we visited the Maharaj family in Caparo and took a run through the now dry
cane fields.
Dry except for one stubborn mud hole that our drivers (Most anyway) could not resist.
Caparo mud holes, being what they are, insisted on stopping the Hilux.
It was a new experience for our Canadian visitor, Keith Wallace, who seemed to enjoy
himself, participating in all the on trail activities including the brush clearing.
Thanks to Rick DeSouza and Tony for accommodating our visitor.
Many thanks to Rick de Sousa for the following photos

The "ON TIME" Crew !!

Nandoo get free labour (again!)

of course some tried to take shortcuts
(whose vehicle is this anyway?)

And then it was lunch time
(and who is out of shape..calling no names eh Shane?)
and here are a few photos of the boys at play.

But they soon tired of all the dried mud and it was off to the Coldin Caparo trail to find a lovely mud hole
